ABOUT US

Meet Our Team

Weather-Seal of Ashtabula was established as a division of Crandall Supply in 1941. Redwood Storm Windows and Doors were sold to homeowners by door-to-door salesmen.

Arthur J. Hogan purchased the Weather-Seal franchise in 1945 and operated his business until 1971. Mr. Hogan expanded product lines to include aluminum siding, awnings, patio covers, and railings. The Redwood Storm products were replaced with aluminum in 1955 when Redwood Storm products were no longer available. Arthur Hogan always stressed honesty, quality and service when dealing with his customers and employees.

It was 1971 when Tom Hogan, with the support of his wife Jenny, purchased the home improvement business W.S.A. Inc. (Weather Sealco) from his parents Art & Toni Hogan. Fifty years later, Tom and Jenny are pleased to announce the sale of W.S.A. Inc. to their son, John Hogan, who has been with the company since 1998.

During his 50-year term as president of WSA, Tom has moved the business to its current location at 4707 State Road, incorporated the business to W.S.A. Inc., expanded with the construction of a new warehouse, employed many local people, and most importantly provided the area with his knowledge in quality home improvement. “I am most grateful for the trust and support that Ashtabula County has given me,” says Tom “My father always instilled honesty, quality and service in this business. I have done my best to follow his examples and John has proved that he too is ready to lead the business with those exact principles.”

John, a US Army veteran, moved back to Ashtabula in 1998 to work with his father after completing a four-year tour with the 82d Airborne Division.  “I remember calling my Dad to discuss a re-enlistment I had been offered that would have extended me for another four years,” describes John, “I remember his answer vividly- “I could really use your help here with business John, come on home.” “The rest is history,” John adds “I never regretted my decision at all, I love my job!” John and his wife Wendy reside in Ashtabula with their two children, Tristan & Maddy.
